The Moulin du Rateau was a watermill used to generate electricity and provide power for bottling vegetables and preserves.
It is the last of 16 mills on the river Combade, a category 1 trout river, situated just above its confluence with the river
Vienne.
The mill fell into disuse in the 1950's and has since been renovated to provide an individual building of character, constructed
of stone under a slate roof, set in 3 hectares of pasture and woodland with 400metres of river frontage.

Fishing for trout using lure, bait or fly is available from the property and both upstream & downstream for as far as
it is possible to roam in a day, a temporary licence is required to fish in the River Combade and most other lakes and rivers
in the Limousin area. Licences can be obtained from the local shop in Masleon (3km)

Outside there is ample off road parking space, a lawned area between the mill and the river, an orchard and 2 paddocks which
are normally home to 3 donkeys in summer.
